OUR VISION

Jameka’s 8-Point Revitalization Plan for Hamden

1. Economic Development

Jameka understands the importance of attracting businesses and commerce into Hamden to offset the tax burden on our townspeople. Our business focus will be in sectors such as AI technology based companies, research and development, and other emerging industries. Our vision is to make Hamden a hub for all technological and medical advances in science, medicine, and other sectors.

2. Housing Revitalization

Hamden needs solutions for our housing issues. By actively utilizing community, state, and federal resources, Jameka will address blighted homes and buildings, and identify potential land opportunities for revitalization.

3. Town Beautification

Jameka’s goal is to reinstate Hamden’s reputation to one that is synonymous with beauty and excellence; which includes restoring our town’s culture intrinsically and externally: our streets, sidewalks, walkways, bus stops, parks, and recreational facilities must be given the necessary resources and attention to be held to the utmost cleanliness standards.

4. Academic Support

Jameka seeks to strengthen the support and connection our schools’ administration, faculty, and staff require for Hamden’s children to succeed academically. We must ensure they can access the necessary tools and resources to enhance our children’s learning environments and best prepare them for their futures.

5. Career Preparation

While traditional college will be the route for many of our children, many others will have fulfilling, lucrative careers in other industry sectors. With Jameka as mayor, she will ensure new partnerships are forged with surrounding universities, trade schools, and learning centers so that Hamden will have strong, established relationships and scholarship programs for our deserving young students for years to come.

6. Recreational Resources

We must ensure that our youth have an abundance of recreational and creative outlets to safely express and expand their creativity through the Arts, social, educational, athletic and STEM platforms.

7. Supporting Vulnerable Community Members

Jameka understands the importance of providing healing and hope for the unhoused and mentally challenged in our town. We must also ensure that the senior citizens of Hamden are heard and well-taken care of, including tackling food insecurity that many may be charged with in silence.

8. Public Safety

During Jameka’s first 100 days in office, she will meet with the Chief of Police and his leadership team to establish a united front. We will reaffirm our full support for their commitment to protect and serve our community with integrity, respect for human life, and dignity for all residents. At the same time, we will make it unequivocally clear that lawlessness will not be tolerated, and those who break the law will be held accountable.
